Raised on the family dairy farm, I developed a love for the outdoors and an eye for setting that you can see vividly displayed in my work. Hours spent hiking, laboring in the field, and practicing outdoorsmanship were great opportunities to think and draw inspiration from the immense majesty of a world we all inhabit.

I was encouraged by my late grandmother, Violet, to write creatively from an early age. She never failed to read my admittedly disjointed stories with good humor and encouragement.

My literary influences and inspirations are eclectic and ever-changing. Cormac McCarthy, William Faulkner, Martin Amis, Jorge Luis Borges, and Chuck Palahniuk influenced my style in various ways, but I take pride in a style I call my own.
